Microsoft Exits Accounting Software market
After only 2 years, Microsoft has decided to exit the UK bookkeeping software market. From the 16th November 2009 they will no longer distribute Microsoft Office Accounting and from October 30, 2009, Microsoft will transfer customer support for existing users of Office Accounting in the UK to Mamut Software Ltd.
The demise of Microsoft’s attempt to gain market share in an already overcrowded market is a setback for those who have bought the product, however, don’t despair, as Sage are currently offering a 25% discount to entice users of competitor products to switch to Sage 50 Accounts 2010.
